Katherine
paints in acrylics, and is currently exploring the equine image,
local scenes, portraiture, and use of the palette knife in her art
work.
As an undergraduate at UC Davis, Katherine studied with Wayne Thiebaud and
Roland Peterson. After earning a B.A. in Fine Arts and elementary and secondary
teaching
credentials, she taught in SF Bay Area public schools. In recent years, Katherine
worked with computers, initially in the corporate world, and has built her
expertise and experience in web design and development. She currently works
with her husband, Bob Hitchman, producing his Photograph
America Newsletter.
Katherine
enjoys riding her American
Saddlebred mare, and she has written and just published
her book: A Leg Up:
How I Learned to Horseback Ride Starting at Age 40.
